January 2018 Prayer Letter

January 2018

Dear Soldiers of the Cross,

We are rejoicing in the Lord that he has given us another year to labor in His vineyard for the souls of men. 2017 is a year that will forever be etched into our deepest memory of highs and lows. Yet GOD has given me the strength to stand once again and say, “OK, LORD, let’s do it again.” I stand AMAZED how God can pick us up from the lowest points of our lives and give us a desire to keep on keeping on. Only God can.

Praise HIS Holy Name.

(Low Point) The Lord gave us a wonderful opportunity to put our hands to the plow and labor for him by helping Bro Joe Copley build a fellowship hall at the Faith Baptist Church on the Fort Hall Reservation in Blackfoot, Idaho. With more than 20 people failing to show up for work and many more unforeseen issues, I found myself in a place of wanting to give it all up and call it quits. BUT GOD.

(High Point) As I began to survey all that the Lord had done thus far, it became clear to me that God was with me and was helping us in so many other directions. Help came through churches and individuals financing the material, Alpha and Omega Trucking delivering out all the material without charge, and men coming from unsought areas to help in the work. Late finishing, but we got her done. What can we say, BUT GOD.

(High Point) Who would have thought I could have been one chosen to represent our Native people at the 2017 Inauguration Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC? I stand amazed at the open doors God has given me. In 2017 the Lord has allowed me to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ from the East Coast of Baltimore, Maryland, to the West Coast of Yakima, Washington; from the Gulf Coast of Texas to the Canadian border of Michigan. How Great is our God! Let us stay reminded. God is always with us even in the Low Points of our lives.

(High Point) In 2017 we had the great opportunity to preach for Bro Eric Schafnitz in the start of a new Native Baptist Church in Rapid City, South Dakota. Praise God for another missionary going to our Native people. Throughout 2017 we were thrilled to see many ask the Lord for salvation. What a Great God we serve!

With the dawn of 2018 we are still in need of your prayers and your hands laboring with us on the mission field.

As We Labor for Christ,

Gerry & Sheril Locklear
